THE STORY

During the depths of my plunge into darkness, I was offered a scholarship to residential treatment. I was hopeless and dying. I had nowhere to go. That act of someone saying "your healing matters, no matter what" — it saved my life.

It was in an experiential group that I first found the courage to be vulnerable. To name things I had carried for a quarter century — trauma, addiction, core beliefs, the parts of my identity I had kept locked in the dark. The group witnessed me. And I connected to a loving space within that I had not yet been able to identify with.

In recovery, I developed an outreach and housing program for our unhoused neighbors. In the social justice uprisings of 2020, I unpacked my silence, how it had been contributing to harm, and learned to take action on a daily basis utilizing the intersection of my identities and superpowers. I read transformational authors such as Gabor Mate, Michelle Alexander, Miriame Kaba. I found that the wound is personal and political simultaneously — that addiction, disconnection, and oppression are not separate problems but the same wound at different scales.I became a therapist because healing is not a luxury. Because someone once believed that about me. And because the moment I got well enough to look around, I saw myself in everyone gazing back at me.

THE WORK

The work is not one thing.

Mark draws from his in depth training in experiential therapeutic modalities, somatic and mindfulness practices, energy work, and his ancestral and ancient mystical traditions — held not as techniques to apply, but as living wisdom to move through. What unifies them is not a method. It is a orientation: that every person carries the innate capacity to return to their whole selves, and that healing happens not through insight alone, but through the lived, felt, witnessed experience of being met.

Mark works at the intersection of the clinical and the contemplative. His training spans the somatic and the psychological, the relational and the transpersonal — because the wound rarely respects those boundaries, neither does the healing.

His areas of depth include developmental and shock trauma, attachment and relationship wounds, anxiety, and addiction/process struggles (substances, work, sex, etc). But the presenting concern is rarely the whole story. The work moves beneath symptoms — not to manage them, but to meet what they are protecting and where they came from. Our symptoms are not the problem, they are the body's intelligence trying to solve one.

What Mark brings to this work is not only training. It is lived experience. He has walked through his own dark nights — trauma, early childhood wounds, addiction — and come out the other side not unscarred, but whole. That journey shapes everything: the steadiness in the room, the capacity to sit with what is hard without flinching, the genuine belief that transformation is possible because he has lived it. He believes that the most impactful healers are the ones committed to doing their own work.

Mark descends from a lineage of healers. His mother is a practitioner of Diksha hands/on energy work, and has been in practice as a spiritual counselor for decades. His father taught him how to facilitate groups early on, and he continues to bring to life the connection between human and nature through guided retreats in the Bahamas and Hawaii. Mark’s ancestral roots descend paternally from Celtic clans indigenous to Ireland and maternally through the Kohen priest lineage of Judaism, trying directly back to Aaron, Moses’s brother.

Mark is licensed to practice psychotherapy in Colorado and Tennessee and offers coaching intensives, experiential workshops, and retreats globally.

The goal is not symptom relief, though that often comes. The goal is reclamation — of wholeness, of authenticity, of the freedom to live from love and presence.

where tenderness last imprinted my roots grow from”

THE PHILOSOPHY

The wound is not personal. It was handed down. Through families, through systems, through centuries of being told that certain bodies, certain feelings, certain ways of knowing are too much or not enough. We have learned how to adapt to our environment. The identified ‘problem behavior’ is actually the most appropriate adaptation. To trauma, hurt, and oppression.

drugs → validation → materialism → the same longing.

when the seeker is directed through Grace towards We,

the 'I' experiences a true return.

This work belongs to everyone. Healing is not a luxury. Sliding scales, community rates, and access structures are not afterthoughts — they are the point. We build on the foundational return to an inclusive, community based way of healing and serving.
